Kampala is well known for its gorillas

Kampala is the largest city and capital of Uganda, located in the southern central zone of the country. In the past this city was the capital of the Buganda kingdom and has kept its relevance throughout the centuries.

In this city we find a lot of spots to visit such the Kasubi Tombs, important religious buildings, etc. This is the starting point for many excursions that head to the most attractive places of the country.

The first day of this safari we arrive to the Kampala city, where we pass the day, we have the chance to visit some of the spots and walk through the main streets. The next day we move west through some sugar plantations heading to the rich Lake Bunyoni, where we can observe many otters and a lot of birds. We will go through green plains and a lot of vegetation.

Our itinerary takes us across the mountains where we will see terraced farms and the Long Horn Cattle and finally we will get to Kisoro, from this place we set off to the gorilla trekking the next day. This city is one of the largest in the south-western part of the country, located among the Mufumbiro Mountains, which are part of the Virunga Mountains.

From this city we can go to Rwanda, Congo or trek around Uganda seeking for this beautiful and sometimes elusive creatures. The trek can be whether long or short, depending on the route we choose but in any case it will be worthy the effort to be able to observe these animals.

On the fourth day we leave Kisoro to go back to Lake Bunyoni to take part of a relaxing boat trip. This is a necessary pause after a long trek after the gorillas.

The following day we drive back along the countryside to Kampala where we have the opportunity to visit some interesting places. During the final day, the sixth, we can visit the Chimps on Ssese Island, the major streets of this town or the tombs of the Bugandan people.

This is one of the best moments to go shopping some souvenirs to remember our visit to Uganda. There are many places where we can get original items, paintings, handicraft, etc. But clearly the best part of this trip remains on the observation of the gorillas living in the forests.

Uganda is one of the only untapped safari destinations in teh world. It is home to about 50% of the last remaining mountain gorrillas in the world.

The country is still not very commercialised, the people are warm and the freindliest in Africa. There are numerous wildparks and adventure excursions.

If you like nature and love animals then Uganda should be on your list of places to go.

A ugandan safari is probably the best safari money can buy today. Uganda is unspoilt and and untapped by the majority of tourists. Its exactly why now is a good time to go before it becomes commercialised like the African countries. The poeple are warm and very freindly. The gorrillas are rare and when seen one feels they are in heaven. The country is beutifull and green being on the equator its the grrenest African country.

There are numerous wildlife parks and loads of adventure sports on the Nile.
